Godox has already shown this speedlight at Photokina in September last year. That was only a prototype but now the final version is here.

The new TTL+HSS speedlight has a round shaped zoom-head as like as the Profoto A1. It will be called Godox V1.

  • flash power is still unknown but possibly similar to V860-II
  • round Fresnel head with 28-105mm zoom
  • li-ion battery-powered operation, 650 full pwr pops
  • ~1s recycle time at full power
  • built-in modelling light in the head and video light on the front
  • AF-assist light
  • magnetic rim on the head for attaching accessories
  • head tilting backwards to ‘negative’ is possible
  • Power level: 1/1 – 1/256 in 0,1EV or 1EV increments
  • Radio Master and Slave operation (no IR anymore)
  • Redesigned user interface and simplified menu system
  • Radio channel scanning function (to avoid interference)
  • Availability: 2019 March-April

    • I guess you are talking about the Sony-version of the V860II that has plastic hot shoe (other versions have metal). Unfortunately the plastic hot-shoe for Sony is not Godox-specific but Sony-specific. Even Sony’s own flagship speedlight model (HVL-F60M) has plastic hot shoe. As for me it’s unkown why Sony flashes require plastic hotshoes. It may have something to do with the high amount of contacts in the hotshoe as its design/construction is very different from a Canon or a Nikon hotshoe.
